The Ram Katha of Morari Bapu, being organised in Rajkot by Phulchhab, the 105-year-old daily of Saurashtra Trust, from January 9 to 17, will be not merely a historic event, but one with profound spiritual, social, and global significance.
The Ramayana and Goswami Tulsidas’ Ramcharitmanas have travelled far beyond geographical boundaries through the medium of the Vyaspeeth. Morari Bapu, who has reached audiences across skies and seas, is at heart a teacher. For nearly six and a half decades, he has conducted a vast movement of public education through Katha.
The purpose is to expand and deepen the reach of education in the rural and remote areas of Saurashtra and Kutch; to strengthen the foundations of primary and basic education; to enable students to benefit from modern educational trends, new technologies, and innovative teaching methods; and to provide teachers with appropriate training. Scholarships, incentives, and teacher welfare will also form part of this effort.
The Janmabhoomi Group and Saurashtra Trust will initiate this vast educational endeavor — an Akshaya Yajna, an everlasting effort for the cause of education — with the Ram Katha serving as its auspicious beginning under the shade of a Vidyavruksh (the tree of knowledge and learning).
Expanding the reach and quality of basic education across remote areas of Saurashtra and Kutch.
Incentives, scholarships, and academic support for deserving students in rural institutions.
Equipping educators with modern pedagogical tools, technology training, and welfare initiatives.
Pre-Katha global conference on education and careers, formulating a policy White Paper for the Government.
The Tree of Knowledge, Wisdom & Learning
Invitations are being extended to the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Bhupendra Patel, Union Ministers, leading industrialists, educationists, professors from premier institutions, and Mahants and saints of Saurashtra. Large numbers of students from leading educational institutions will also attend.
